Duke Street Food & Drink Market, has raised £7,800 to support life-saving cancer research projects across the North West and North Wales.
Duke Street Market is a culinary hub in the heart of Liverpool City Centre, boasting six kitchens and an independent restaurant. Set in a 100-year-old warehouse, the Market prides itself on a warm and comfortable feel, for a unique, social dining experience.
The market has recently added £1 to the bill throughout the Christmas period, with all proceeds going directly to local charity North West Cancer Research. The fundraiser ran throughout December, with guests ordering their food and drink using Peazi, with the optional £1 donation added at the checkout.
Lee Bannon Smith, the General Manager for Duke Street Market said: “It was a simple decision for us to choose North West Cancer Research for our Christmas 2022 fundraiser. They’re an organisation from our city, serving our communities and improving health in our region. Most people in the world are affected by cancer and for us to be able to support and raise awareness in our local area was an opportunity we didn’t want to miss.
“We would like to thank all of our guests who donated so generously throughout December and helped raise such an amazing amount of money. We hope our donation will help North West Cancer Research continue the amazing work they do, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
Alastair Richards, CEO of North West Cancer Research added: “We’re so grateful to the team at Duke Street Market for running the £1 to the bill fundraiser. A huge thank you to all who visited the market over December and donated to our cause.
“All the funds raised will be a huge help when it comes to advancing our research and education projects across the region to prevent and treat cancer effectively.”
North West Cancer Research is an independent charity dedicated to putting the region’s cancer needs first by funding life-saving research and education to tackle the cause, improve the care and find the cure for cancer.
